Stacks Books
Graduate students and faculty members have extended borrowing privileges on books from the stacks and government documents. Graduate students may check out these books until the end of the current semester, and faculty members until the end of the academic year.  if another patron requests a book that is out on an extended loan, however, the extension is cancelled and the book is recalled with a new due date.  From one to three weeks will be allowed for the book's return, depending upon when it was originally checked out.  (See Holds/Recalls/Searches).  Items needed for Reserve are recalled immediately

Youth Material

The loan period for items in the Youth Collection is 7 days. Patrons may renew items one time for an additional 3 days. If an item is needed for a longer period, the patron may contact the Youth Collection staff to request an extended loan.Patrons may request an extended loan in person or by contacting the staff via e-mail (Yolanda.Hood @uni.edu) or phone (319) 273-6167. The length of time granted for an extension is determined on a case by case basis.
