How to Submit Interlibrary Loan Requests

Requests are submitted electronically through UNISTAR.

How can the PATRON help speed up the process?

Check UNISTAR (UNI Library Catalog).
Double check our Library Catalog to verify that our library does not own the item.

Exhaust local resources
Make sure that locally available resources have been exhausted.  Reference staff may have some suggestions on finding more information in the Rod Library.

Be Selective.
Take time to carefully review citations and then request only those materials that seem most useful. Double check the list of items not available through interlibrary loan (for example- textbooks).

Check the Language.
Some library indexes give citations to journals with articles written in a foreign language.  Make sure the materials requested vial ILL are in a language in which you have reading proficiency.

Carefully complete the ILL request forms.
Accuracy and clarity of information are very important to a successful interlibrary loan search.  Do not use abbreviations in the title fields of the request.

Distance Education Students.
Distance Education Students should contact the Distance Education Coordinator before submitting Interlibrary Loan requests.
