Rod Library Celebrates Banned Books Week

Rod Library Celebrates Banned Books Week

This week is Banned Books Week!  It is a week set aside to celebrate the freedom to read.  Rod Library is celebrating this week by hosting a variety of events.

  • We are having a Facebook trivia contest with a new banned books question every day.  Prizes will be awarded!  Go to www.facebook.com/rodlibrary for more information.
  • We are hosting our 1st Annual Virtual Read-Out.  Go to www.youtube.com/user/rodlibinstruction and look for the Banned Books Week Virtual Read-Out playlist!  Check out some celebrities who have participated in the ALA Virtual Read-Out: www.youtube.com/bannedbooksweek.
  • We are partnering with UNIFI, a UNI student organization, to host our 2nd Annual Read-Out on Thursday, September 26th, from 12:00pm-4pm in front of Rod Library.  Stop by and read a favorite banned book or stop and listen/discuss books that have been banned.
