It's Tax Time Again!

It's that dreaded time of year again - tax time!  Where can you find forms to file federal and Iowa state taxes?  Online, of course! 

As of this year, Iowa will no longer be issuing paper tax forms.  Online tax forms can be found at:

Announcement of Availability

The Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Iowa Finance Authority announces the availability of a draft of the 2012 Action Plan for the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development as of October 7, 2011.  The report details the housing and community development plans for the 2012 program year with funds provided to the State of Iowa by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The programs covered include: Community Development Block Grant Nonentitlement (CDBG) Program, HOME Investment Partnership Act, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) and the Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program.

The public is encouraged to comment through 4:30 p.m. November 7, 2011. The IRS no longer distributes tax information or forms in print. All information and forms can be found on the Internal Revenue website:

State of Iowa Taxes
A limited number of Iowa tax forms are available in paper. They are located on the wall between the main display case and the reference desk on the 2nd (main) floor of the library. You can also find information and forms on the Iowa Department of Revenue website:

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA)
The Department of Accounting offers a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) to assist people in preparing their tax forms as well as answer questions. The VITA program will be available every Monday and Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm in Curris Business Building (CBB) Room 223 starting on February 7th, 2011. The VITA program will end on April 13th, 2011. Please direct any questions about the VITA program to the Department of Accounting at 273-2394.

Cedar Valley Hunger Games II Information and Registration

For more information about the Cedar Valley Hunger Games II, click here.  You will find a flyer, the registration and rules, and a release form for the Hunger Games II.  You can also view a video from last year's Hunger Games.  The Hunger Games II will be held on Saturday, October 16th, 2010.  Registration and release forms are due October 1st, 2010.
