Need a break from the textbooks? The Browsing Room, located on your right as you enter the library, is home to a small selection of recent and classic fiction, popular non-fiction, and literary journals. The CFPL @ UNI collection, a small selection of popular fiction and non-fiction titles from the Cedar Falls Public Library, is located along the south wall. In the upcoming weeks the Browsing room will also provide access to popular major motion picture and well known documentary DVD’s. Stop in for a distraction!
There is a new public Fax service for sending US and International Fax located at the end of the Interlibrary Loan counter. Patrons can send a US fax for $1.50 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. International fax can be sent for $4.95 for 1st page and $3.45 for each additional page. A credit or debit card is required for use. Instructions for use are located on the Fax machine, however, if you have any additional questions contact the Access Services Staff.
Library staff members are often asked if we can give someone a list of the books they have checked out in the past. Our answer has always been, "No." The library takes seriously the privacy of your library records so we do not maintain a list of what you borrow after you return it. "My Reading History" is a new feature which allows you to track items you borrow. Some patrons have asked for this service as a means of recalling a book or author they liked or for keeping a list of what they have already read. Participation in the feature is entirely voluntary. You may start or stop using it, as well as delete any or all entries in "My Reading History”, at any time. If you choose to start using "My Reading History", you agree to allow our automated system to store this data.
To enable “My Reading History” go to My Library Account, choose My Reading History, and then choose “Start Saving My Reading History”. This begins the collection of titles you borrow from the Rod Library.
