Association of Educational Office Personnel
Archives Record Series: 07/10/03
Association of Educational Office Personnel. 2 linear feet.
In October 1960, a group of office workers at the Iowa StateTeachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa) organized a professional support group called the Clerical Club. The club changed its name several times during its history. It was also known as the UNI Association of Education Secretaries (AES), UNI Association of Office Personnel, and in about 1991, became UNI Association of Educational Office Personnel (AEOP).
Some of the major community contributions made by UNI AEOP include annual workshops that provided training sessions for office personnel from around the state; fundraisers, such as Adopt-A-Family Christmas Project for needy families; and scholarships. Due to declining membership, the UNI AEOP dissolved in 2007.
For more information on the highlights of the group’s history, see Box 1, Folder 1.
This collection grew in small annual increments for many years. But, in 2008, following the dissolution of the group, long-time member Gail Bunz donated the papers of the group to the University Archives.
