Joseph Langland Poetry Reading, 2004. .1 linear foot

Professor Roy Behrens, of the University of Northern Iowa Department of Art, arranged for poet Joseph Langland to read and recite from his works in Professor Behrens' design class on November 11, 2004. Professor Behrens was concerned when he learned that there were no professional quality recordings of Joseph Langland, then eighty-seven years old, reading from his work. Professor Behrens arranged for Joseph Langland to visit the University of Northern Iowa campus and to have the Audio-Video Production Services unit make a recording of the reading.

On this recording, Joseph Langland talks about his life and his poetry. He makes fascinating introductions and then reads work from over the course of his long career.
