Description of the Material
These files were created by Director of the School of Music Ronald Ross in preparation for the building of a performing arts center at the University of Northern Iowa. They include correspondence, memos, reports, minutes of meetings, notes, and secondary publications. Correspondents include Professor Ronald Ross, President Constantine Curris, Professor Howard Jones, Dean of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts Beverly Byers-Pevits, Director of Facilities Planning Morris Mikkelsen, development staff, and others.
The files provide a good picture of the development of the needs and scope of a proposed facility that culminated in the construction of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.
