Dr. Walter D. DeKock, Emeritus Professor of Education, passed away Sunday, June 29, 1980, at the Care Center, Friendship Village, Waterloo, Iowa.

Dr. DeKock came to the University of Northern Iowa in 1956 as Associate Professor of Education and retired with emeritus status in 1971.  He then worked part-time for the office of Extension and Continuing Education, assisting in their offerings of Correspondence Study, until the Spring of 1978.

Dr. DeKock is survived by his wife Mary, one daughter, and two sons.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 1980, at the Orchard Hill Reformed Church.  Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls,

Dr. DeKock's wish was for memorials to be given to The Gideons--Project Phillip of World Home Bible League--Cedar Falls/Waterloo Chapter,

The flag will be flown at half mast during the time of the service.
