Photocopy and FAX Services

Photocopying Services

Fees
You will be charged 10 cents for each photocopied page including from microform or microfiche. Many distance education students request paper copies of ERIC microfiche. ERIC documents may range in length from a single page to the length of a book. Please double-check the length of any ERIC document before you request that it be copied.

Photocopying Restrictions

When making photocopies, the Rod Library uses the fair use portion of the federal copyright law. To comply with the copyright law, Rod Library's policy is for each person, we will make:

  • ONE copy of ONE article per issue of a periodical or newspaper.
  • ONE copy of ONE chapter per book, if the book is divided into chapters, or ONE copy of 10% of the book, if it is not divided into chapters.
  • ONE copy of 10% of a piece of music.
  • ONE copy of ONE poem, up to 200 lines.
  • ONE copy of not more than two pages from a children's book.
  • ONE copy of a photograph, drawing, chart, or graph (unless these are within the context of an entire article or chapter being copied).

In addition, unless otherwise stated on the manuscript, we are not allowed to copy anything from a workbook.

When Rod Library receives articles from another library through interlibrary loan services, the fair use portion of the federal copyright law is used since a photocopy of the article is made.

FAX Services

Fees
We can also FAX materials to you at your request. When we FAX copies of print materials, you will be charged 25 cents for each page. Often a print copy of the item is required before the library can FAX the material to you. Therefore, most of the time there will be a separate photocopy/copy charge of 10 cents per page associated with an item that we FAX to you.

** All charges will appear on your University bill (U-bill).
