Panther Prowler
New Panther Prowler Search Interface

The library has implemented a new Panther Prowler search interface. In the past there were four separate links for Panther Prowler on the library's homepage: Journal and Magazine Articles, Databases by Field of Study, Databases A-Z, and Find Database. Comments from users and library professionals alike suggested that this constitutes too many choices for users.

The new interface places several of these functions on a single page. While it makes the page somewhat longer, it enables users to do several things in one place.

  • Users can start searching right away by entering a topic in the searchbox and clicking on the search button.
  • Users can select a field of study in which to search.
  • Users can add databases to or subtract databases from a selected field of study.
  • Users can select their own databases in which to search.
  • Users can browse a list of databases and go to the vendors' sites to search.
