My Reading History

"My Reading History" is a feature which allows you to track items you borrow. Participation in the feature is entirely voluntary. You may start or stop using it, as well as delete any or all entries in "My Reading History", at any time. If you choose to start using "My Reading History", you agree to allow our automated system to store this data.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Who will have access to my reading history?
    Staff will not have access to this information. However, with the appropriate court order, it is possible that law enforcement officials could gain access to your reading history. If this is of concern to you, you should not opt in to the reading history feature.
     
  2. Is this service only going to keep track of books?
    No, this will keep track of everything that you borrow from the library, including DVDs, CDs, books, etc.
     
  3. What happens if I lose my card?
    You will not lose your reading history if you lose your card.
     
  4. Can I delete titles from my list?
    Yes, you can delete some or all of the titles from your reading history.
     
  5. Will it list books that I borrow through Interlibrary Loan?
    No, it will not list the title of an interlibrary loan but will simply display "Interlibrary loan."
     
  6. What happens when the library removes a title from the collection?
    If we remove a title from the collection, you will see the message "Information no longer available" instead of the title.
     
  7. Does this service allow me to export titles? 
    No, at this time it is not possible to export the titles.
     
  8. Can I sort my list by author, title, etc.? 
    No, at this time you cannot sort the list.
     
  9. How do I enable My Reading History?
    • Click on My Library Account link located at top of each page
    • Log into your account by entering your last name and ID number
    • Click on "My Reading History"
    • Click on "Start Saving My Reading History "
       
  10. How do I disable My Reading History?
    • Click on My Library Account link located at top of each page
    • Log into your account by entering your last name and ID number
    • Click on " My Reading History"
    • Delete all of the titles in your list
    • Click on "Opt Out "

The Research Desk is located on the main floor of Rod Library, near the Book Bistro.  Reference librarians staff the desk during the hours below.  You can also schedule a consultation if you need extensive assistance.
