The general Reference Desk is near the center of the 2nd floor and is easily visible from the entrance. Personnel at the Reference Desk help people find and use information. Ask at the Reference Desk when you have questions, need directions, or want advice about finding information for your research or interests. Reference and Instructional Services staff will be happy to guide you to the reference book or index you might need, or to help you get started on a UNISTAR, Internet database, or CD-ROM search. Librarians at the Reference Desk provide in-depth assistance with research questions or projects. They can offer suggestions on gathering materials for a specific topic and can assist you with the use of reference materials, bibliographies, indexes, and specialized information sources. Specialized reference assistance is available in the following areas of the Library: Art & Music, Special Collections & University Archives, and Youth. These service areas are on the third floor.
