Youth Collection Move Begins August 1

July 27, 2011

Beginning bright and early Monday August 1 the Youth Collection will begin its move from its current location on the third floor to a temporary location on the first floor.  If you have difficulty locating a Youth book or item during the move please see the helpful folks at the Circulation Desk.

The current Youth Collection room will be renovated over the fall and part of the spring semesters.  When it reopens in the spring it will be sporting a new look, including shelving, carpet and wall paint.  There may be some other surprises too!

The temporary location of the Collection will be along the east side of the first floor, in the the area which formerly held the current periodicals.

Forgot Your Flash Drive or Calculator?

July 27, 2011

So you're at the library typing away on your paper and realize that you've forgotten your flash drive. "Darn!" you say.  No worries!  Rod Library has flash drives you can borrow.  Just stop at the MultiService Center desk on the 1st floor to pick one up, and return it when you're done.

What's that you say?  A calculator would be great, too?  Stop down at the MultiService Center, where you can check one out for three hours and use it here in the library.  Problem solved!

Please Pardon Our Mess

July 7, 2011

Work began in earnest this week on the fourth floor ceiling ducts.  Eller Insulation is insulating portions of our air ducts to prevent condensation forming and dripping onto our ceiling tiles.  The drips have stained the ceiling tiles and at times have damaged books.  There may be some extra noise on the fourth floor during this time and a bit of dust as they remove and replace ceiling tiles.  They should be all finished up within a week and a half.

If you need assistance locating a quiet place to study please see the helpful folks at the Circulation Desk by the Library's entrance.

Thank you for your patience!
