Wiley Online Library will launch this weekend (August 7-8), completely replacing Wiley Interscience.  

Wiley InterScience will no longer be available from Saturday 7 August at 3a.m. CST and should return as Wiley Online Library on Sunday, August 8 at 11 p.m. CST.  Users may go to http://www.wileyonlinelibrary.com/info to find additional information.

While Wiley has indicated they will transfer all content and access from Wiley InterScience to Wiley Online Library, they also state that they cannot guarantee that all redirects will work in the long-term.   If problems arise, the Library will work with Wiley to reinstate access as soon as possible.

ProQuest® will be performing infrastructure maintenance on January 30, 2010. A twelve (12) hour maintenance window will be required for this maintenance. The window will take place from Saturday, January 30, 2010, at 9:00 CST to Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 1:00 CST.

The following products will be unavailable during these windows:

• ProQuest platform products, ProQuest Historical Newspapers (traditional and graphical K12 interface), American Periodicals Series
• Genealogy and local history products including Ancestry Library Edition, HeritageQuest Online, Historic Map Works Library Edition, ProQuest Obituaries and Digital Sanborn Maps
• K-12 products, including eLibrary and SIRS
• COS products
• UMI products including online dissertation products

ScienceDirect will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance for approximately 12 hours from 7:00AM CST Saturday, January 23 to 7:00PM CST.

LexisNexis online products will be unavailable to users from October 31, 8:00 p.m. through November 01, 2009, 4:00 a.m. Central Time.  Products affected include LexisNexis Academic, Congressional, and Statistical.

Rod Library has just added a copy of the "Atlas of Black Hawk County 1926" to its Digital Collections. This book provides a unique look at our county in a different era where the township assumed great importance in local government.

The ideal civil township was six miles square, and the township held elections, repaired roads, and gave relief to the poor. In addition to the detailed township maps in this volume you can find farmers' directories which detail the owner (or renter) of each parcel of land, his wife, children, and how many years he had lived in the county.
