We know it's that time of the semester.  You're living almost 24/7 in the library trying to finish another paper or reading those last chapters.  Do you know who else is here at the library?  Yep, thieves.  They're waiting for you to leave your backpacks, cell phones, laptops, and wallets alone for just that moment you go to get a drink of water or go to the restroom.  That's all the longer they need to take your personal items.  Be smart.  Don't leave your personal items unattended.  In fact if library staff see items unattended, we will leave a small reminder that your items could have been the target for thieves.  Has it happened this semester already?  YES!  Is it going to happen again? Sure if you leave your stuff alone.  Don't become their next target!

The Rod Library is pleased to host a portion of The Center for Holocaust and Genocide’s and UNI STAND’s display entitled “Tents of Witness.”  "Tents of Witness: Genocide and Conflict," created by World Without Genocide at William Mitchell College of Law (St. Paul, MN), will feature six tents, each featuring the story of a different genocide or other mass atrocity crime: American Indians, Argentina, Bosnia, Cambodia, Darfur and Rwanda.  The other tents are located in Schindler Education Center Lobby and Maucker Union Hemisphere Lounge.  The tents will be on display through Friday, March 13, 2013.

We are back in the coffee and tea business.  Stop by for a cold iced coffee or iced tea.  It would certainly hit the spot during these hot days!

Does a nice cold iced coffee or tea sound good to you right now?  Well in addition to our regular coffees and teas we are now serving iced coffees and iced teas.  The flavors available for the iced coffee are regular or nutty hazelnut.  The iced tea flavors are unsweetened, raspberry, or sweet tea.  All are available for $1.25 or just a $1.00 with your own 16-oz. mug. Come see us at the Multiservice Center Desk for that refreshing aaahhh moment!

The Bounds and Current Periodicals area from the call numbers A- HQ, along with the Compact Periodicals, will be unavailable from Tuesday May 22 - Friday May 25 due to maintenance on the floors.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

We now have available a stapler, a glue stick, and a pair of scissors available for a 3 hour checkout.  This is in addition to laptop chargers, cell phone chargers, crayons, colored pencils, color markers, calculators, highliters, Sharpie markers, and wite out.  Don't forget that we also have flash drives that you can checkout for three days.  See us on the first floor (lower level) of the library for any of these items.

Need some crayons, colored pencils, or color markers to help finish a project?  Well, we've got them now.  We also have cell phone chargers as well as a charger for Mac, Dell, and Hewlett Packard laptops.  All these items can be checked out at the Multiservice Center Desk on the first floor (basement) of the library for a three hour check-out period.
