Grace Johanna Hovenga Adelmund, 92, of Parkersburg, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.

Survivors include a son, Donald Hovenga of Grinnell; two daughters, Bernice Freemon of Parkersburg and Elizabeth Deuell of Allison; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her husbands, Cornelius Hovenga and Abbie Adelmund; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Martha Willis and Etta Van Ellen; three brothers, Kuno and Henry Meinders, and Ubbie Meinders in infancy; and two infant siblings; services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Christian Reformed Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg; memorials may be directed to the family; Mrs. Adelmund worked at the hatchery in Parkersburg for a number of years and in 1965 went to work for the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, as a housekeeper, retiring in 1971.
