You will need to begin by using an index or an abstract to identify articles on your topic. Select one from the Find Articles [1] page in the Gateway. If you don't know the title of an appropriate index, select one from the dropdown menu by Field of Study [1]. Click on the title you wish to search to open an online database.

Once you have a list of citations on your topic, you need to find the journals in which the articles are located. Many of the online databases will provide direct access to the articles, but some do not.

For those that do not, go to the Journals [2] page in the Gateway to see if the library provides access to the journal. If the journal is online, click on the link to be connected to it.

If the journal is in print format, record the location and call number information of the title so that you can find it in the library stacks.

If the library does not own the title, a copy of the article can usually be obtained from another library by submitting an Inter-Library Loan [3] request form.
