The Rod Library has several clusters of computers for public use. These clusters serve different purposes. Use of library owned computers is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy for Library Public Computers [1].
First Floor
There are nine library research computers to the north of the Multi-Service Center desk and three near the elevators. Black and white laser printing from these computers is free and goes to printer 1A, which is located to the north of the Multi-Service Center desk near the main stairwell.
Second Floor
The Electronic Resource Area consists of a group of research computers adjacent to the Reference Desk on the second floor. In this area, users are able to access the library's catalog [2] (UNISTAR), and various types of electronic databases: e-books, e-journals, and electronic indexes and abstracts. The computers also provide access to the array of resources available through the World Wide Web and the Internet. Black and white laser printing from these computers is free and goes to printer 2A or 2B, which are adjacent to the Reference Desk.
Third Floor
There are four research computers at the top of the main staircase and four near the elevators. The Youth Collection also has public computers. Black and white laser printing from these computers is free and goes to printer 3Y, which is outside of the Youth Collection offices.
