Food and Drink Policy
Beverages
Library patrons are permitted to drink nonalcoholic beverages from closable spill resistant containers such as travel mugs, plastic bottles with screw on or snap shut tops, or cans which have a plastic snap on lid. In the event of damage from food or drink to library materials or equipment, costs may be assessed to the responsible patron.
Beverages may not be consumed in the following Rod Library locations:
- Special Collections and University Archives
- Near any computer
- Near audiovisual equipment or materials (such as the viewing area across from the MultiService Center on the first floor or the Art/Music listening area and listening rooms)
- When using materials from Youth or Art/Music locked collections
- When using microforms or microform equipment
- When using photocopiers
- Library Instruction room 286
- Assistive Technology Room 280
- When using maps from locked maps cabinets
- At Public Service desks; such as the reference desk, the Circulation and InterLibrary Loan desks, the MultiService Center desk, the Art/Music circulation desk
Food
Food may not be consumed in the Library.
