Career Decision Making and Personal Assessment
JobStar
Consult the Career Guides section of this conveniently-arranged site for links to
information on career decision-making and on specific careers. This site
also provides links to job-search information and to over 300 general and
specific salary surveys. Although the Get to Work section focuses on jobs
in California, there are links to some national job banks.
Career Development eManual
Developed by the University of Waterloo (Canada) Career Services, this site
walks you through the career planning process, including tips for researching
jobs, making career decisions, and setting goals. Use the toolbar located
at the top of the page to access self assessment, decision-making, and life/work
planning.
Occupational Outlook
Browse occupational information provided by the Department of Labor. Each
occupation is analyzed in terms of work environment, nature of job training,
employment statistics, job outlook, and earnings. Click on the OOH
Search/A-Z Index in the upper right corner to browse or search job titles.

Created by North Carolina State University, click on "You" to take a personal assessment test
based on the Holland Personality Types to see what careers match your
type. Follow the steps to link to job descriptions found in the Occupational Outlook site listed above.

Grad Job Hunter
This sites walks soon-to-be or recent college graduates through the job
search process. It begins with preparation and resumes and progresses
all the way to interviewing, salary negotiation, and relocating to your first
job. This site has four job banks: entry-level, internships, experience
required, and professional level. To access them, select Job Postings.
Job Web
Created by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), this site
provides information about resume writing and interviewing as well as a few
sample resumes and cover letters. The Career Library contains articles
on a variety of job-related topics including graduate schools, career fairs,
and workplace culture.
Monster.com
Search this useful site for jobs nationwide by keyword, geographic location,
and/or job category. Membership is not require to browse the job listings,
but one can set up a My Monster account to post resumes and further
customize searching. The Get Career Advice section leads to free job-search tips
as well as to optional Monster.com fee-based services.
The Riley
Guide
Created by Margaret F. Dikel, this is the original Internet job search and career
planning site. With new material and features each week, this site contains
a variety of job-related information. Find tips on resume and cover letter
writing, interviewing, executing your job search, and much more. This
site links to a variety of Internet job banks.

America's
Job Bank
A component of America's Career OneStop, this federal and state funded site
is connected to the Department of Labor. The Job Bank brings together
job listings from each state's Workforce Development Center. Visit the
other three components of the site for more general career information.
NationJob
Network
Recruitment services listing current openings nationwide. Membership is
not required, but users may set up a P. J. Scout account to receive e-mail notices
of jobs fitting their individual profile and to post resumes on the Web.
JobHunt
A list of Internet accessible job and internship resources for a broad range
of job types and geographical locations.
Iowa

A resource listing full and part-time jobs in Iowa well as links to jobs outside
the state and resources for job hunters.

This nonprofit organization primarily serves the
interests of higher education and the corporations serving the higher education
information technology market. The job postings are primarily technology related
and located in higher education or the high technology industry; not all require
graduate degrees.
