David Ross Maberry


Dr. David Ross Maberry, 65, of Stephenville, Texas, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Friday, June 9, 2000, of natural causes.

He was born August 30, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas.

A veteran of a U .S. Army MASH unit in Korea, Dr. Maberry served from 1957 to 1959 and later returned to South Korea twice to teach at a school for children of U. S. military members and as a USO Service Club director. He later became a professor in the Department of Communnication Studies at the University of Northern Iowa until 1981. He then accepted a position at the American College, Athens, Greece, and later taught at Tarleton State, Stephenville, in Guam, and in Charlotte. North Carolina

Survived by: a nephew and a niece.

Memorial services: were Wednesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Stephenville, with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Forth Worth. Lacy Funeral Home, Stephenville, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: may be directed to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 595 N. Mcllhany Avenue, Stephenville, Texas 76401.
