Special Collections and University Archives

Staff in Special Collections and University Archives are responsible for housing rare, valuable, and sensitive library material, arranging archival and manuscript material for public use, creating indices and finding aids for archives and manuscripts, assisting patrons in using special collections, and advising on and off-campus community members on UNI history. Typical student responsibilities within Special Collections and Archives include creating indices and finding aids for archives and manuscripts, clipping material for historical files, shelving materials, arranging and processing archives and manuscripts, and keyboarding historical data.
