April 2008 Student of the Month
Stacy is the Rod Library’s Student of the Month for April 2008. She is from Granville, located in Sioux County in far northwest Iowa. Stacy is a sophomore accounting major and has her sights set on a May 2010 graduation date. It was during her days at Spalding High School in Granville that Stacy discovered her affinity for accounting. Stacy says she took some accounting classes in high school and found she liked the subject.
Stacy works in the mail room and binding area of the Technical Services Department. Her duties include wrapping outgoing packages for Interlibrary Loan, sorting both U.S. mail and campus mail, recording packages that are delivered by campus mail, delivering mail to areas throughout the library, pulling periodical issues when they need to be bound, checking theses and dissertations prior to binding, entering binding information into the computer, preparing periodical issues for pick-up by the bindery, unpacking bound volumes when returned by the bindery, mending worn or damaged books, scanning images for digitization projects, and various other tasks. Stacy handles it all with a great work ethic and positive attitude, which is why she is such a valued member of the Technical Services team.
Stacy came to the Technical Services Department on the recommendation of her brother Andy, who spent several years in Technical Services as a student assistant. She has been with the library for two years and says she enjoys working with her fellow library employees. In her free time Stacy enjoys sports and participates in intramural volleyball and softball, and she likes spending time with friends and going to the movies. Thanks for your hard work, Stacy, and congratulations for being chosen April 2008 Student of the Month!
