Congratulations to Leah of the RIS department our April Student of the Month.
Leah is a senior English major who has worked in the Reference and Instructional Services Department for 2 ½ years. Leah’s main task in RIS is assisting patrons at the Help Desk. Her nominator noted that Leah “is very approachable” and that she is “knowledgeable on the basics of library resources and gives expert assistance with basic searching”.
Leah wanted to work at the library because she preferred an on campus job and she enjoys helping people. The thing she likes most about her job is helping people find resources for their research projects. She will graduate in May with her B.A. and will continue as a graduate student in the M.A. English- Literature program at UNI. Luckily for us, that means she will also continue to work at the Library!
Leah is from the Waterloo area and graduated from Union High School. In her free time she likes to read and go to the movies. She is also trying to learn to crochet with the help of some of her RIS colleagues.
Thank you Leah, for all of your excellent work at the Library!
