February 2010 Student of the Month
Our February Student of the Month is Brittney, student assistant in the Dean’s Office. Brittney is a senior Accounting major with a minor in Actuarial Science. She plans to graduate in Spring 2011, and hopes to find a job in the Midwest that will combine her two academic interests.
Brittney started working in the Library during the Fall of 2007. The bulk of her duties involve inputting information, balancing spreadsheets and distributing reports, but she does get out of the office occasionally to help with a special Library function or a new display, and even spent one summer working on a shifting project in the Access Services Department. Brittney’s nominator notes that she, “is organized, self-disciplined, and works independently” and, “her attention to accuracy and detail helps her to produce high quality work.” Brittney wanted to work in the library because the position offered experience with accounting and because it gave her the opportunity to learn more about the library.
Brittney grew up on a farm near Gilmore City, Iowa a small town about 30 miles northwest of Fort Dodge. She has an older brother and sister. In her free time, Brittney enjoys spending time with family and friends, volleyball, reading and math (can you hear all the Math teachers cheering?).
Thank you Brittney, for all your hard work, and congratulations for being chosen Student of the Month!
