February 2013 Student of the Month
Zach is the Rod Library Student of the Month for February 2013. He graduated from Washington High School in Washington, Iowa, in 2006, and his hometown is Brighton, Iowa. He is a 2nd-year graduate student at UNI majoring in creative writing, and is planning on graduating in the Fall of 2013. Zach started working at the Library in 2009 in the Access Services Department at the Circulation Desk. Later, he was interested in getting trained downstairs at the Multi Service Center, which he did. Zach had always wanted to work in a library. As a young child still at home, he made his own library in his bedroom. He is now one of the library’s Building Monitors. His duties and responsibilities are opening and closing the library on assigned nights and weekends, doing rounds during his work hours, and helping patrons check out materials at the Circulation desk and Multi Service Center. These are only a few of the tasks that Zach does during his work hours at the library. Zach is willing to fill in if someone calls in and can’t make it to work and is always willing to help out with whatever, whenever and wherever he is needed. He’s one of a kind. Thanks for all of your hard work, Zach, and congratulations on being named Rod Library Student of the Month!
