November 2007 Student of the Month

nov2007ryan.jpgRyan is the Rod Library’s Student of the Month for November 2007. Ryan was born in Jefferson, Iowa. He attended Boone High School, which is where the sister of Barb Kuhlman, retired Technical Services employee, teaches English. Barb’s sister advised any Boone seniors planning to attend UNI to check out the Rod Library for employment opportunities. Ryan exhibited his superior intelligence by: a) choosing to attend UNI; and b) taking his teacher’s advice and applying for work at the Rod Library. Ryan was hired by the library his freshman year, and he is still putting up with us as a senior. He works in Technical Services, in the cataloging area. Ryan’s duties include searching for lost books and pulling withdrawn items from the stacks. He also helps with scanning for various digitization projects.

Ryan is a finance/real estate major and plans to graduate in fall 2008. Move over, D. Trump! Ryan says he plans to stay flexible and open to whatever employment opportunities come up after graduation. Away from the library, Ryan likes to spend time with friends and play a little golf. He is also an all-around sports fan.

Congratulations to Ryan for being chosen November 2007 Student of the Month!
