November 2011 Student of the Month
Alida has worked at the library for 3 ½ years in ASD. Her time in the library has been spent working at MSC, ILL, Circulation, and as a Building Monitor. She has worked on many special projects here at the library including, but not limited to shifting, assisting in rewriting the ILL procedures manual, moving the youth department to first floor, building shelves, and currently she is serving on the Public Relations Committee.
Alida is a senior Early Childhood and Elementary Education major, with a minor in Early Childhood Special Education and will be graduating in May of 2012. Alida is from the village of Troy Mills, Iowa and graduate from North-Linn High School. She keeps herself busy with school, work, and planning her wedding for April 14, 2012.
After graduation Alida plans to move back to the village with her husband Jeremy and finish her schooling with student teaching in the Cedar Rapids area. She would like to find a job working with students with special needs and get her masters in Special Education.
In her non-existent free time Alida enjoys watching television including NCIS, SVU, Burn Notice, and House.
Alida has been a great asset to the library. She is always willing to do whatever is asked of her and to add to her fine qualities, she is a perfectionist. Every task she completes is excellent and always in a timely manner.
We are definitely going to miss her when she graduates but know she will make an excellent teacher.
Congratulations to Alida as Student of the Month for November.
