Youth Collection

Staff in the Youth Collection are responsible for development of children’s/young adult materials, providing reference service for patrons using those materials, providing bibliographic instruction for patrons using those materials, maintaining and evaluating the collection, and serving as a professional resource for Iowa educators. Typical student responsibilities in the Youth Collection include checking bibliographies against UNISTAR, processing materials, assisting patrons with reference questions, helping with the inventory process, and assisting in assembling displays, collecting materials for presentations, and creating bibliographies and indexes.
