October 22-28 is Open Access Week! Open Access seeks to return scholarly publishing to its original purpose: to spread knowledge and allow that knowledge to be built upon in a free and open environment. Open access is made possible with the consent of the author and the copyright holder. Open Access Week is an effort to promote and to inform authors, students, researchers, administrators, publishers and librarians about the benefits of Open Access. For more information about what you can do: www.righttoresearch.org/index.shtml and www.openaccessweek.org/
Rod Library also provides information about open access and author rights on a scholarly communication guide: guides.lib.uni.edu/scholarly-communication
Please visit an Open Access exhibit outside of room 250 (Collection Management & Special Services) at Rod Library. Learn what faculty can do to promote Open Access and how it benefits students.
