The University of Northern Iowa is located in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the intersection of College Street and University Avenue. Visitor parking can sometimes be difficult to locate. However, there is a new parking lot just south of the Rod Library with ample handicap parking and a fair number of meters. There is also a large metered parking lot just north of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on University Avenue. The Conference and Visitor Center at 27th Street and Hudson Road can often give advice on visitor parking.
The Rod Library is located west of the Maucker Union and east of the Campanile. Special Collections and University Archives is located in the northwest corner of the third level of the Rod Library.
The Special Collections reading room is open for service during weekdays and Sunday afternoons during the fall, spring, and summer terms (times listed below). Hours of service may vary during holiday periods and interims between terms. Unless you are conducting research in a highly specialized area, it is unnecessary to make an appointment for service. If you wish to consult with the staff before you arrive, you may call 319-273-6307 or drop an email to email@example.com, to firstname.lastname@example.org, or to Rachael.Acheson@uni.edu.
