Library Feasibility Study Begins This Week

Rod Library and Facilities Planning are embarking on a semester-long library building feasibility study. With the development of the learning commons, other space changes that have been suggested, and the integration of the UNI Museums into the building, we thought it would be prudent to take a more systematic look at library space.

We've hired OPN Architects, who just completed the Redeker project and who recently designed the Cedar Rapids Public Library, to work with us. Library consultant Sam Demas (former Library Director at Carleton College) will also be assisting us with this project.

We will be holding several focus group sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday (to gather feedback from YOU) along with a great presenatation by Sam Demas on "Library Building Design: Trends and Issues" on Tuesday at 4:00 in the University Room of the Union.

Watch for signs in the Library and more blog posts with the details! More information may also be found on the Feasibility Study's Libguide.
